Lorna is the friendly blond who decided to get into the fabric/quilting business in the first place. She took the plunge and swept us in with her! She was born in Connecticut, and also has lived in Taiwan, Texas, Illinois, Arizona, Washington, and now Nevada. Her Dad is from Scotland (if you can’t tell from her name), and she has visited there several times, but wants to go back someday soon. Will that ever happen if she is running a store? She is full of intelligence and energy – and you have to be, not only to have your own business, but to raise four children as well (ages 3 to 17). Her great husband Daren does help out a lot (not only with family responsibilities but he rocks the online SEO and web design)! Lorna is talented in so many areas – she’s a gifted decorator as you can see from the layout of the shop, and she also has the ability to make people laugh. This gal can move mountains!
Annie works behind the scenes making samples, writing tutorials, and managing her amazing blog Originate and Renovate. She is a computer whiz, creative quilter, photographer, painter, artistic consultant, Zumba instructor etc. etc. etc! Not to mention devoted wife and mother of two. Annie was born in Illinois, but has lived most of her life in the Salt Lake City area, though she’s been able to do some fun traveling as of late. She is fearless and a dynamo. She’s the one with her finger on the pulse of all that is new and trendy. Believe it or not, she is a cosmetologist as well, plays the violin, sings, dances – great at anything she tries! Jenny is the rock. She is there to help out whenever she is needed and is so sweet on top of it, we can’t believe it! Jenny works tirelessly packaging and shipping all the orders and is willing to help wherever and whenever needed! Jenny is from New Hampshire, but has settled in the west after graduating from BYU in Elementary Education. She was a Kindergarten teacher for a couple of years, but is now kept busy by her darling 2 year old daughter Sophie and her hubby. She is very excited as she is expecting a baby boy early this fall. We love the fact that she brings her New England calm and charm to this crazy group. She recently got into quilting, but also knits and crochets and loves to try new things!
Janie is the matriarch of the group and can claim credit for getting all the girls in the family to quilt! She’s won ribbons in state and county fairs, but mostly loves rescuing vintage quilt tops and turning them into treasures. She used to do lots of acting and song-writing, but is content these days to sew and garden. (OK, she does break out into song on occasion!) Married to a Scotsman and there’s never a dull moment with him!
